As a CCHS basketball follower, I can’t believe this team that had 5 losses and almost lost to a MHS basketball team that didn’t make the tourament would have a chance to win the state champinship. This CCHS team is not a very good team ,compared to CCHS of the past. This team is about Rick Nalt and he is showing us all how much of a great coach he really is. I’ve said it and many others have too. We all say he got the best players in the state on his team. Yes, that might have been true in the past, but not this years team. This year he had to be the coach of the year and by the way, he won. He has shown us that he can coach and with the same amount of talent as any other team in the MVC. AHS couldn’t beat him when it counted. Coach fazio still can’t win the big game and coach Nalt is at his best when it comes to big games. I wouldn’t want any other coach of the side lines than coach Nalt when it comes to a big game. I still can’t believe this CCHS basketball team is in the state champinship game. I love the fact that AHS and CCHS have 2 of the best Freshman in the MVC and they will continue the rivaly between these 2 schools. I just wish that people wouldn’t bring up the student body of no shows. One guy gives a trophy to the best student body and the town he comes from, the student body never shows up to any game. Get rid of the trophy and I hope its never brought up again. Go CCHS

Nice gym, very good parking but I haven't seen such loose rims sense my backyard basket. Agree with you on the 2 refs who let them play and that 3rd one was just not on the same page. Was he the one who called the T? I'm a CC fan and I didn't like it but than again I didn't see the play because Ben was behind the play going down court. I agree with Nault that CC was up 2 with the ball and had cetainly taken control but it's HS basketball and you just never know. I think that if CC had scored and were up 4 they wouldn't had left Burt so wide open for that 3 he hit at the end.

Ahh, I love my public when it speaks out.
Here goes:
1. All I ask for is consistency. There was none in that game last night.
2. It's the nature of the beast on Twitter, boss. It's my job. The later and tighter things get, the more Tweets. Check out everyone else tweeting at games.
3. Nelson and Judson and Giribaldi are players. Like Noah and Desrosiers and all the rest. You write about the local athletes and laud their triumphs. Again, it's the job.
4. Nope. Don't like the popcorn at Tsongas. However, the pretzels? Now you're talking baby.

Officials should call the game the same for the entire game, period. Be
consistent and then no one can complain I'm sure there are videos out
there to show whether he got it right or wrong.

find funny? You started tweeting early and when Central fell behind it
all stopped. Then you came back when they went on their run. Either do
it or don't. What are you going to do when Nelson leaves for college?
Your crush on him is a little over the top. Just sayin.

Prediction
for Sat. night? Lemme guess Nelson goes off for 35pts, 15 assists and
sells popcorn at halftime and you claim it's the best you've ever had. Nom nom nom.

Greater Lawrence was not kicked out of the Christmas Tournament. The Greater Lawrence school committee voted to leave.

I certainly don't live on this blog and certainly was not concerned about making sure I monitor the progress on your innuendo, accusations, and half-baked conspiracy theories. Now if you wanted to know the answers I am sure you could have found a way to contact me. I'm sure of it...but you didn't and won't. Hopefully a moderator will jump in some time soon.

Wherever you are getting information and from whomever it is - they are misinforming you and are not credible - Therefore that makes you not credible. This started right from your comments about GL, SJP, and making money. Contact me offline if you would like and we will discuss further. I'm sure you can figure out how to do that. But you won't....

Just had a minute to check out the blog and I am disappointed at what I am reading. First of all let's get some things clear...

1. GL Boys Basketball made their OWN decision to leave the GLCT. The "Committee" had nothing to do with it. Don't believe it - check with the AD. Do your homework!

2. The "Committee" is not selecting an 8th team for the GLCT - in fact there is still no 8th team as we speak. And as far as I know SJP was never an option. I believe they play in another Tourney. Again - check your facts.

3. SJP being in the IAABO 130 Classic doesn't make money for me - again check your facts!! That is a tourney that has given over $10,000 in scholarships in 3 years and over $1000 to "Officials vs. Cancer" and will continue to do so. How dare you accuse me of "making money" on any of this. If you knew me and my situation - you would know that isn't close to being true and that statement is borderline libelous. By the way genius, the scholarships for the GLCT last year were around $100. And as far as the Comcast Tourney - the scholarships aren't given to the participating teams, and It's nice that the out-of-town tourney is used as the Gold Standard.

4. Also - the Committee has had nothing to do with the money end of this at all.

5. Haverhill High showed some limited interest but already has a commitment to the Lowell Tourney which they plan to honor and they should. Ask Mike Trovato yourself. Again - get the facts straight before you accuse me or anyone on the committee.

6. Mike Muldoon was a logical choice and his Editor agreed - nothing against HL - but Mike is at every minute of every game on the Boys side and has been for years. He is an historian of this tournament and has all of the stats and records.

7. And Rick Gorman - anyone, anyone who has a negative thing to say about him being part of this has no CLUE and zero credibility. He doesn't owe anyone anything. Period.

8. As far as the location, last I checked and said, the AD's voted unanimously on trying it back at Merrimack. I'm sure if it doesn't work - they will move it back to one of the schools.

9. Finally about the committee - it was put together to help bring back the excitement and energy to the tournament that some of us remember. It was also put together with the hope of making more and providing more to the kids. That includes the extras that have been mentioned and the scholarships. Again Facts before accusations.

Guest and Lou - please have some pride and identify yourself to me and we can talk it out even more. I would much rather hash this out with someone directly and know who I'm really dealing with.

WOW!!!!! I see Mr. Napolitano can’t answer any questions. This GLCT committee has a stink to it and you can’t wash it out. This tournament is for the kids of Lawrence and surrounding city’s and what is the first thing they do, they ask GL boys basketball team they can’t be part of it. For what, to put St. John’s prep in its place because St. john’s Prep makes money for Mr. Napolitano tournament. Hector at least 2 people owe you a phone call here. Mr. Gorman and Mike Muldoon. They asked Mike Muldoon to be on it to be a yes man, having you on this committee would have been a problem. You would have bumped heads with them and they don’t want that. Mr. Napolitano answer the questions that had been asked. I don’t see any good coming out of this cast of characters.

Outstanding year/season for the Whittier Tech Wildcats baseball team. Unfortunately, their were no photographers to capture the incredible win at LeLecheur Park in Lowell.

Tough to knock the administration there. Bradley is one of the, if not the, best AD around. The guy started with nothing athletically there and has brought in some pretty good people to run the show.
I don't think we snub them, either. If you asked Kevin, he'd say we're pretty good to them.

Great point about Whittier and the coaches. The seniors persevere and it's not just a one man pitching performance that has taken the Wildcats this far. The two man rotation has been outstanding and the bats have provided significant run support. They should be getting more press and respect.
