To close there is a ton of talent in the system, they just maybe playing the wrong sport.

Re: Had a sit down with Jaymie Spears …

Hec, when you're right, you're right..... Although shame on you for the plug that Murphy led them to an NIT bid...Terrific.....You should have stopped at the 3 NCAA bids.

Re: Had a sit down with Jaymie Spears …

Jaymie is legit, there is no doubt about it-the kid can play.
I am just trying to figure out how our CCHS recruiting machine missed on him. Best of luck to him--wherever he goes he will succeed.

Re: Had a sit down with Jaymie Spears …

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Eight great athletes, whose career spanned 40 years of Boston College athletics, have been selected for the University's Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame.
Hmmm.
Define great.
This from the BC Web site:

Jay Murphy's four-year career at Boston College marked some of the finest seasons in school history. During his time at the Heights, Murphy led the Eagles to three NCAA Tournament berths and one NIT bid. Twice, BC advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16, while advancing to the tournament's Elite 8 in 1982. He earned BIG EAST honors three times, including All-Conference first team accolades as a senior.

He currently ranks sixth on BC's career scoring list (1,795 points) and seventh on its career rebounding list (763 rebounds). Following his graduation, Murphy continued his playing career in both the NBA and in Europe.

Re: Had a sit down with Jaymie Spears …

BC "great" Jay Murphy ? How do you define "great" ?......Like you've had a "great" 20 years at the Trib ? You've gone from covering high school sports to.....well....anyways.

I think Jay Murphy was 2nd fiddle to the "great" Martin Clark and anytime you're 2nd to a British b-ball player, "adequate" may be a better monicker to hang on him.
