Mr... Longo. I played for Larry Klimas and I can assure you that yes, this years defense and that game last night would have had him grinning from ear to ear. Coach Klimas was more than a coach to us, he was like a father figure. You could ask him anything, not just about football or track, and he'd give you advise on what to do. The program was crushed when he passed away but I think Coach Graham is 100% the right guy to suceed him. Those are some huge shoes to fill in Methuen, you're replacing a legend, but he's doing great and is clearly the right guy.

Hec, Pretty accurate picture of the game. Coach A has to take some solace in the fact that, if Central doesn't make it an adventure every time they return punts, they win the game. Kudos, however, to Cal Carroll. He got it done in crunch time. Good athlete. You have to wonder how Central's secondary will respond in anticipation of one of the best QB's in the state this coming week. They were shredded in the last two minutes Friday night. But how was it not Interference on Ouelette's pass into the end zone??

Salem score? At first I wondered if Salem played their jv's. Nope. Can't explain it, but it does make the NH playoffs that much more interesting as the Devils get a rematch with Central right out of the shoot.

    helloooooooooooooo hec,

true words about methuen. it's nice to see them growing a first class program. days where they only won the turkey toss are long gone and there is a ton of excitement from the pop warner levels on up. also true words about their uni's. I'm pretty sure they've just recycled them year after. royal blue. white. black (no gold. come on hec. fashion feau paux)

Just another note. I know in this post and in past posts you have stuck up for Whittier. You claimed that if they lost to manchester today, that they would be on the outside looking in (rightfully so.) when making your next post. or at least next weeks fab 4. really hammer home to the naysayers that they just played top notch competititon (for their league) and dominated from start to finish. People in the area are clouded on their views of quality football based on what division they belong to and I don't think it's right. Whittier has something special brewing in haverhill. They have parents and fans who travel. They are ALWAYS in the mix for a playoff spot (for the past 5 years at least). A ton of people think they would get blown out of the water if they played the Londonderrys/NA/Lawrence/Andover's of the world. I can't disagree enough. You always mention them, let's just continue to show WT some love.

Does anybody think there would be howling around the area if Central started bringing in large groups of parochial school kids to hoop and football games, handing out Raider t-shirts, and generally generating enthusiasm in local schools for CCHS sports? Just wondering.

Not if they played where they belong in the Catholic Conference, no howling at all.
