ETBlogs MVSports: Sizing up the Saturday night showdown in Londonderry

You have presented the game and the teams accurately. I think the teams are very well matched. Pinkerton's strengths are Londonderry's weaknesses. But, top to bottom, the Lancers have the decided edge. Londonderry will control the lines of scrimmage. Londonderry will hold the ball for big chunks of time. Pinkerton will run many fewer offensive plays. It comes down to two things; can Londonderry contain Guinto enough to win the game and, if Guinto is reasonably contained, which team fares better, Londonderry's defensive secondary or Pinkerton's passing?

Londonderry wins by a TD because of coaching. O'Reilly is the best D I coach in NH. But he is used to coaching Pinkerton to victory over Londonderry when they are using one running back 60-70% of the time and throwing no passes. The lancer had become too predictable. If the new Londonderry coaches stick to their season plan and mix up the plays and use every offensive weapon, they are simply better.
