Why aren't there 3 referees working these Christmas Tourney games? It can't be the money with the huge attendance numbers.
Those games certainly need 3 referees!

That's a pretty good call by you.
I've never really been a fan of a third official on the high school level, but the guys yesterday, all of whom are legitimately at the top of their game as officials, just missed so much out there.
I'm not getting on officials. It's a tremendously tough job. I tried it and couldn't do it. Still, getting it right is of utmost importance, to be fair to the kids.

It's a disgrace that only a single line write up was all that was written about the Lawrence High Vs. Haverhill High Varisity Basketball game friday night. Lawrence beat Haverhill by only one point in overtime....Not sure who dropped the ball on this one but more attention needs to paid to these games....Sad

Mike, not sure if you read my hoop column but there was an explanation for that, as neither coach had a scorebook that was official.
There were other major mess-ups that night at that game that were mentioned in the Eagle-Tribune column.
I feel bad for the kids on both sides, but we need a little help, too.
