ETBlogs MVSports: Tuesday’s tidings: Bad news in Hillie-ville, now can I save you a few bucks?

Wow Tough blow for Haverhill. I saw the Robinson kid toward the end of the year last year and he was much improved. Are you kidding me about the Umass program? What a joke.. Governor Patrick fills a made a job to pay back a political favor to a under qualified person for 170k and then they go and cut the baseball program? If they cancel alot of dissapointed local kids Robinson-Haverhill, Wallace-Tewksbury, Silva-Pentucket, Smith-Amesbury.. If they cancel program we should all be embarrased to live in Mass..

Note, here, the rumor is that UMass Amherst only, it does not include Lowell.
UMass Lowell was not mentioned in the rumor, and right now at UMass Amherst, we're hearing things are still in the "mulling it over" stage. Nothing is even proposed yet, other than the idea has been broached.
    Again, Lowell is NOT affected.

why would Chip Dunn make a silly comment like that? I'm sure Robinson can pitch! if he doesn't it will be a pleasure to watch him play in the field and hit cleanup behind Rosario.

Both robinson and Bretton will pitch this season Robinson got cleared to start pitching on wed. 25th and Bretton is about 2 weeks away from pitching

    That's great news, if accurate.
The Bretton-Robinson presence on the mound makes the Hillies a true contender, with Tewksbury and Lawrence, in the MVC small.
Without them pitching, Haverhill would be hard-pressed to even think state tournament.
With a Robinson on the hill, there's not a team in the MVC that Haverhill can't beat on that given day.
And you get the feeling that a healthy Bretton is ready to make his own mark.

Robinson and Bretton will be ready. I have talked with the both of them and they can not wait to get the season started. Robinson has added an amazing change-up to add to his 87 mph fastball and his slider. The two aren't only ready to hit the mound, they are two of the top hitters for Haverhill and are ready to win over the MVC.

So they pitched on the Cape this weekend?
  • Patrick L · 8 months ago
No they didn't. Chip Dunn wanted to see who else will be available to pitch quality innings this year if anything does happen to them through out the year. Why doesn't someone just interview Robinson for the newspaper and see what the truth is just to clearify all of this.

Haverhill looked great in its first game. Great pitching, and 3 - 4 combo of Rosari and Robinson might be the best in the state! Rosario 1-2 with a homer and robinson 3 - 4 with 3 RBI's and a home run is something to be wreckoned with. watch out!
